Arvin Aghaeizadeh Saheli
Arvin Aghaeizadeh is an Iranian deaf multidisciplinary visual artist working primarily in pencil and charcoal drawing, while also exploring photography as part of his visual practice.
Born deaf, Aghaeizadeh has developed a unique artistic perspective shaped by observation, silence, and visual storytelling. He began his artistic journey in pencil and charcoal drawing in the summer of 2020, creating highly detailed monochrome artworks that explore themes of memory, cultural identity, human connection, and the emotional relationship between people and their surroundings.
In 2024, he expanded his artistic practice into photography, exploring architectural, fine art, portrait, documentary, nature, industrial, and wildlife photography. Through both drawing and photography, he focuses on light, texture, form, and the emotions and stories hidden within visual details.
His artworks have received recognition in international photography competitions and festivals. Through his creative practice, Aghaeizadeh seeks to express stories through visual language, exploring silence, heritage, nature, and human experiences.

Arvin Aghaeizadeh’s artistic practice explores the relationship between observation, silence, memory, and human experiences through drawing and photography.
Working primarily with pencil and charcoal, he creates monochrome artworks that focus on light, texture, form, and emotional expression. His drawings are not only representations of visible subjects, but also reflections of feelings, memories, and stories hidden within details.
As a deaf artist, Aghaeizadeh has developed a unique visual perspective shaped by deep observation and sensitivity toward the surrounding world. Silence has become an important element of his creative language, allowing him to explore communication through visual expression.
Through traditional drawing techniques and photography, he seeks to capture moments, emotions, and connections that encourage viewers to look closer and discover meanings beyond what is immediately visible.
Tell us about yourself and your artistic background.
I am an Iranian deaf multidisciplinary visual artist working primarily in pencil and charcoal drawing, while also exploring photography as an extension of my visual practice.
Born deaf, I have developed a unique artistic perspective shaped by observation, silence, and visual storytelling. I began my artistic journey in pencil and charcoal drawing in the summer of 2020, creating highly detailed monochrome artworks that explore memory, cultural identity, human connection, and the emotional relationship between people and their surroundings.

My artistic goal is to communicate stories through visual expression and create works that connect with viewers beyond words.
How would you describe your artistic practice?
My artistic practice is centered on observation, detail, and visual storytelling. I primarily work with pencil and charcoal drawing, creating monochrome artworks that explore light, texture, emotion, and human experiences.
My process involves careful study of form, contrast, and atmosphere, allowing me to transform visual elements into meaningful narratives. I am interested in capturing subtle details that are often overlooked and giving them deeper emotional presence.
Alongside drawing, I explore photography as an extension of my visual language. Through photography, I investigate architecture, nature, human expressions, and everyday environments, focusing on composition, mood, and the stories contained within each moment.
Across both mediums, my practice is driven by a desire to create visual experiences that connect with viewers emotionally.
What themes or ideas are most important in your work?
The most important themes in my work are observation, silence, human connection, memory, and the emotional relationship between people and their surroundings.
Through pencil and charcoal drawing, I explore human experiences by focusing on expressions, details, and moments that carry personal or cultural meaning. I am interested in how small visual elements can reveal emotions, memories, and stories that are often unseen.
My experience as a deaf artist has influenced my perspective and strengthened my connection with visual communication. Silence has become an important part of my creative language, encouraging me to observe the world through light, form, texture, and atmosphere.
Through drawing and photography, I aim to create works that invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover deeper meanings.
What inspires your creative process?
My creative process is inspired by observation, memory, imagination, and the emotions connected to human experiences, nature, and environments.
I do not simply capture what is visible; I explore the feelings, atmosphere, and hidden stories behind each subject.
As a deaf artist, I have developed a strong connection with visual elements such as light, texture, form, and space. These elements guide my creative process and help me transform thoughts and emotions into drawings and photographs.
Through my work, I aim to express ideas and feelings through visual language.
Can you tell us about a recent artwork or project?
One of my recent artworks is a detailed pencil and charcoal drawing that explores the connection between human emotion, memory, and visual storytelling.
Through careful attention to light, texture, and form, I aimed to capture more than the physical appearance of the subject. The work focuses on emotions and stories that exist within small details, creating a deeper connection between the artwork and the viewer.
This piece reflects my ongoing exploration of monochrome expression and my interest in using traditional drawing techniques to communicate ideas and emotions.
What challenges have influenced your development as an artist?
One of the biggest challenges in my artistic journey has been finding ways to communicate emotions and ideas beyond spoken language. As a deaf artist, I have learned to rely deeply on visual observation and develop my own way of understanding and expressing the world.
This experience has strengthened my connection with details, light, texture, and visual storytelling. It has encouraged me to become more patient, thoughtful, and dedicated in developing my artistic practice.
What role does art play in your life today?
Art is an essential part of my life and the way I understand and communicate with the world. It allows me to express ideas, emotions, and experiences that cannot always be described through words.
Through drawing and photography, art has become my visual language — a way to observe, explore, and share meaningful stories. It continues to shape my perspective, creativity, and connection with people and the environment around me.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently continuing my exploration of pencil and charcoal drawing while developing new works focused on human emotions, memory, and visual storytelling.
Alongside my drawing practice, I am also expanding my photography projects, exploring architecture, nature, and human experiences through a thoughtful visual approach.
My current focus is on creating works that combine technical detail with emotional depth and personal expression.
What are your future goals as an artist?
My future goal as an artist is to continue developing my visual language and create meaningful works that connect with people across different cultures.
I aim to further explore drawing and photography, participate in international exhibitions and artistic projects, and continue sharing stories through visual expression.
Through my work, I hope to inspire viewers to see the world from different perspectives and discover emotions and stories behind each image.
