Melancholy of Dead is an exploration of loss, loneliness, memory, and the quiet emotions that remain after something—or someone—has left us.
The exhibition looks at death not only as an ending, but as a presence that continues to live within us. Sometimes, what hurts most is not the moment of losing someone, but the silence that follows: the empty spaces, familiar places that suddenly feel different, and memories that return when we least expect them.
Through these works, I wanted to capture that feeling of being caught between remembering and letting go. The paintings are not meant to portray grief in a single form. Instead, they reflect the many ways melancholy can appear—sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, and sometimes through a strange sense of beauty found in ordinary moments.
Melancholy of Dead is ultimately about what remains. The places we remember, the emotions we carry, and the fragments of the past that continue to shape who we are. Even in darkness and absence, there can be tenderness, beauty, and a reason to keep moving forward.
This exhibition is an invitation to pause, remember, and perhaps find a little piece of your own story within the silence.

Artist Statement

The Lone Road is a quiet reflection on solitude, memory, and the beauty that can be found in moments when we have no one beside us.
I wanted this painting to feel like a place you might come across while wandering without a destination—a small, peaceful street filled with old stone houses, flowers, warm lights, and an empty road stretching ahead. The road is quiet, but it does not feel lifeless. The open window, glowing doorways, and flowers growing along the walls suggest that life exists just beyond what we can see.
For me, the lone road represents those phases of life when we have to walk forward on our own. Sometimes that loneliness can feel heavy, but there can also be something comforting about it. The uneven cobblestones, the aged walls, and the scattered light are reminders that every journey carries traces of where we have been.
I chose the flowers and warm windows to bring softness into the solitude. They represent hope, memories, and the small beautiful things that keep us moving when the road ahead feels uncertain.
The Lone Road is not about being lost. It is about finding your own way—even when you have to walk it alone.
