Artist Statement
Photography is my way of telling stories, connecting personal experiences to broader questions of memory, fear, loss, identity, and power. A literal record of the real world is my raw material for constructing meaning; through my works, I invite viewers to pause, imagine, and continue the narrative within their own minds.
Exhibition Statement
The Amygdala Sends Its Messages Quickly
A series of black-and-white self-portraits emerging from a persistent sense of fear and insecurity within my home. Over a year, I placed the camera in positions where I perceived myself to be under threat, allowing it to occupy the place of an invisible gaze. The images are not reconstructions or staged scenes, but traces of moments when the body responds to threat before explanation or control.
